The rotor shaft of an electric vehicle is a key mechanical component in the drive   system of an electric vehicle (EV). It not only plays the role of   transmitting the output torque of the motor, but also converts the rotational   motion generated by the motor into the driving force of the wheels. The rotor   shaft sleeve is located inside the rotor and is connected to the silicon   steel sheet in the center hole of the rotor. It drives the rotor to rotate   through the rotation of the rotor shaft and is the core of the motor powertrain.

The global market for EV Rotor Shaft was estimated to be worth US$ 332 million in 2023 and is forecast to a readjusted size of US$ 1003 million by 2030 with a CAGR of 15.5% during the forecast period 2024-2030.

 Previously, rotor shafts were mostly solid, but due to the stress   concentration on the surface of the shaft during use, the stress on the core   was relatively small. According to the bending and torsion resistance   characteristics of material mechanics, the interior of the rotor shaft is   appropriately hollowed out, and only a small outer diameter needs to be added   to the exterior. Hollow shafts can meet the same performance and function as   solid shafts, but their weight can be significantly reduced. At the same   time, due to the hollowing of the rotor shaft, cooling oil can enter the   interior of the rotor shaft, increasing the heat dissipation area and   improving the heat dissipation efficiency. Under the current trend of 800V high-voltage   fast charging, the advantage of hollow rotor shaft is greater. The current   production methods for hollow rotor shafts mainly include solid shaft   hollowing, welding, and integrated molding. Among them, welding and   integrated molding are more commonly used in production.

The rotor shaft of an electric vehicle is a key mechanical component in the drive   system of an electric vehicle (EV). It not only plays the role of   transmitting the output torque of the motor, but also converts the rotational   motion generated by the motor into the driving force of the wheels. The rotor   shaft sleeve is located inside the rotor and is connected to the silicon   steel sheet in the center hole of the rotor. It drives the rotor to rotate   through the rotation of the rotor shaft and is the core of the motor powertrain.

The current   production methods for hollow rotor shafts mainly include solid shaft   hollowing, welding, and integrated molding. Among them, welding and   integrated molding are more commonly used in production.
