Description
Killer lymphocytes: referred to as K cells, are differentiated and developed from lymphoid stem cells in the bone marrow. They account for 5% to 7% of the total number of lymphocytes in the blood. They are smaller than T and B lymphocytes and are slightly larger in size. , are medium-sized lymphocytes with a diameter of about 9 to 12 μm. There are lysosomes and secretory granules in the cytoplasm. There are Fc receptors (antibody receptors) on the K cell membrane. When the antibody binds to the target cell (antigen), K cells use Fc receptors to bind to the Fc end of specific antibodies, causing the target cells to quickly lose activity and kill the target cells. K cells must be assisted by antibodies to have immune killing effects, so K cells are also called antibody-dependent Antibody dependent cell-mediated cytotoxic cell (ADCC), K cells mainly attack target cells that are larger than microorganisms, which can be virus-infected cells, such as liver cells in chronic active hepatitis. Due to the large size of these cells, It is difficult to be phagocytized. K cells have an extracellular killing effect. They can clear them and have a clear killing effect on tumor cells. The increase in K cells in the peripheral blood of allogeneic transplant patients shows that K cells are also involved in rejection reactions.
